  There is a practice test and a study guide available at the applicants expense.

• How do I request extra patrol while I am on vacation?

  You can request extra patrol by calling 620-441-4444 and asking to speak to an officer about extra patrol.

• Does Ark City have a leash law?

  Laws regarding animals within the city limits of Ark City can be found in our municipal code.

• I recieved a ticket for no proof of insurance, but was insured at the time that I was ticketed. How can I submit proof of insurance?

  Proof of insurance can be submitted electronically, or can be taken to the Arkansas City Municipal Court Clerk's office at 118 W. Central Ave.

• Where do I go to file a Protection from Stalking or Protection from Abuse order?

   Protection from Stalking (PFS) or Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders are filed with District Court. To get more information, call 620-441-4520.

• Who serves Protection from Stalking (PFS) or Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders?

   Protection from Stalking (PFS) or Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders are served by the Cowley County Sheriff's Office.

• Where can I get a driver's manual?

  You can pick one up at 320 E. 9th ST in Winfield, or call (620) 221-7793 for more information.

• Where do I go to get my learners permit?

  Driver's licenses and learner's permits are issued by the Department of Revenue.

• What type of license do I need to drive a 49cc vehicle?

• Does ACPD do VIN inspections?

  We do not. However, Winfield does. You can request more information by calling 620-221-5555.

• I have questions about an eviction notice that I have been served, or need to serve. Can you help me?

  Eviction notices are Civil matters, and must be handled by the court system.

  The Cowley County Sheriff's Office can answer some questions and can be reached at 620-441-4555.

• How do I get my property back after it has been taken in a search warrant?

  Please call our administrative office at (620)441-6601, and we can connect you to the evidence clerk. Or, you can fill out a property return request form on our website.

• I have lost some property (such as a wallet, set of keys, or other), what number to I call to check if it has been turned into the police department?

  You can call 620-441-6601 during regular office hours. If you need to check with us at night or during a weekend, you can call 620-441-4444 and request to speak with an officer.

• Do you take unused, or expired prescription medications?

  We are able to take unused or expired prescription drugs. We have a drug take back box in our no-contact report room, just inside our lobby. We can not take inhalers, creams, liquids or needles.
